The community is warmly invited to the annual Crittenden County Bands Holiday Concert on Thursday, December 3. A cherished tradition that brings the sounds of the season to life.
Under the direction of Isaac Carter, the Concert Band will perform a rich program of classic holiday carols and festive winter favorites. This is a wonderful, family-friendly event showcasing the musical talent of dedicated students and a perfect way to celebrate the start of the holiday season.
The concert begins at 6 p.m., at Fohs Hall. Concessions available.

Best Christmas Pageant Ever Children's Literacy Event
Join us for a festive literacy event inspired by The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. Families will enjoy a read-aloud of Barbara Robinson's humorous and heartwarming holiday story, along with themed crafts, games, snacks, and interactive activities inspired by the book and its unforgettable characters.
Presented in conjunction with Community Arts Foundation's production of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, this family-friendly event celebrates reading while exploring a story that reminds us to see Christmas through fresh eyes. Children and families are invited to discover the book, participate in hands-on activities, take photos with Santa Claus, and enjoy a morning filled with holiday fun.
Whether you're already familiar with the Herdmans or meeting them for the first time, this event is a great way to experience the story before it comes to life on stage.

Girls Day Out: The Golden Girls Women's Expo
Grab your friends and enjoy a day designed just for women at Girls Day Out: The Golden Girls Women's Expo. Inspired by the humor, friendship, and charm of The Golden Girls, this new event is being planned as a fun opportunity to shop, connect, and enjoy time together.
Guests can expect a variety of local vendors, potential speakers and demonstrations, and activities focused on topics that matter to women. Organizers are also exploring additional features such as a fashion show, giveaways, and other special experiences throughout the day.
Whether you're interested in shopping, learning something new, supporting local businesses, or simply spending time with friends, Girls Day Out is being designed as a welcoming community event with something for everyone.

A Fireside Chat with Kathleen Guess
Where Art History Feels Like Conversation
For more than 25 years, the Fireside Chat has gathered our community to explore art in a way that is engaging, thoughtful, and refreshingly down to earth. Whether you’ve attended for years or are joining us for the first time, you’ll find a space where curiosity is encouraged and questions are welcome. No art degree required.
Kathleen has a way of making art history feel alive. Through the Fireside Chat series, she explores the stories behind the canvas and makes art history engaging for everyone in the room.
A Centre College graduate with a degree in Art History, Kathleen currently serves as a Gifted and Talented teacher at Crittenden County Schools. She previously worked as Assistant Director and Children’s & Youth Services Librarian at the Crittenden County Public Library and is a former Community Arts Foundation board member. In 2019, she appeared as a contestant on Jeopardy!.
For more than 25 years, Kathleen has presented our Fireside Chat, shaping it into one of CAF’s most enduring traditions.
Top Voice 270 Singing Competition

Top Voice 270 is a live music competition showcasing talented vocalists from Western Kentucky. The event brings together local singers for an evening of live performances as competitors vie for the Top Voice 270 title and a $500 grand prize.
Held at historic Fohs Hall in Marion, Kentucky, the competition highlights the depth of musical talent in Western Kentucky while creating a fun, community-centered live music experience. Audience members can expect a variety of vocal styles, powerful performances, and an engaging night of entertainment.
Proceeds from the event support the Community Arts Foundation Student Support Fund, which helps remove financial barriers to arts and music education for youth in our region.

Center Stage: Kids Drama Camp
CAMP INFO:
Sessions are taught by Corey and Michelle Crider, with a support staff of volunteers. Focus will be given to the following fundamentals: verbal and non-verbal communication, improvisation, memorization, listening, defining stage space, blocking, props, etc. The camp will culminate on June 25 with a public performance at 5 PM.
ELIGIBILITY:
Campers must have just completed 2nd grade through 5th grade to participate. Campers do not have to be from Crittenden County.
COMMITTMENT:
Please be sure you can commit to all five days of the camp and the performance. Drama Camp is a team activity and campers depend on one another for a successful experience. We will not move the performance to accommodate schedules, so please be sure before registering that you are able to complete the camp as scheduled.

PARENT/GUARDIAN/SIBLING ATTENDANCE:
Parents/Guardians will NOT be allowed where campers are learning and rehearsing. The only children in attendance should be paid campers. The public performance on the last day of camp is open to everyone.

Mahjong Dog Days of Summer Charity Event
Join us for an afternoon of Mahjong, friendly competition, and community support at the Dog Days of Summer Mahjong Tournament. Designed for players who already know the basics of American Mahjong, this casual tournament is a great opportunity to meet other players, sharpen your skills, and enjoy a few hours around the table.
Cash prizes will be awarded, and a portion of each registration will benefit the Mary Hall Ruddiman Canine Shelter.
Whether you're coming with friends or arriving on your own, you'll find a welcoming atmosphere and plenty of opportunities to play. Light snacks will be provided, and well-behaved dogs are welcome to attend with their owners.
Kristi O’Nan - Mahjong Instructor
Certified Mahjong Instructor Kristi O’Nan will be on-site throughout the session to answer questions, offer strategy tips, and provide guidance as needed. Players should have a basic understanding of American Mahjong and be ready to jump into game play.

Do I need to register?
Registration is encouraged but not required. Registering helps us plan for seating and table arrangements.
How much does it cost?
The tournament entry fee is $40, payable at the door. A portion of each registration benefits the Mary Hall Ruddiman Canine Shelter.
Do I need to know how to play Mahjong?
Yes. This event is intended for players who already know the basics of American Mahjong. If you've completed a beginner class or can comfortably play a game with occasional questions, you're ready to participate.
Will there be instruction?
Formal instruction will not be provided during tournament play. However, certified Mahjong instructor Kristi O'Nanwill be available to answer questions throughout the event.
Can I come by myself?
Absolutely. Individual players are welcome and will be seated with others as needed.
Do I need to bring my own Mahjong set?
We expect to have enough Mahjong sets available for play. If additional sets are needed, registered participants may be contacted about bringing their own tiles.
Will there be snacks?
Yes. Light snacks will be available for participants.
Why is it called the Dog Days of Summer Mahjong Tournament?
A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the Mary Hall Ruddiman Canine Shelter, helping support its work in our community.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes. Well-behaved dogs are welcome. Dogs must remain on a leash, be current on vaccinations, and be comfortable around people and other dogs. Owners are responsible for supervising and cleaning up after their pets.

SHOW THEMES
Macbeth is a classic Shakespearean tragedy that includes stage combat, references to warfare, themes of murder, political conflict, and supernatural elements. All violence will be presented in an age-appropriate theatrical manner. This is an abridged version of Macbeth.
TO PREPARE FOR AUDITION
1. Access the sides on the website to prepare. The more prepared you are, the more impressive your audition will be. Focus on clear diction, expression, and storytelling rather than simply reciting lines.
2. Work on Vocal Expression - Shakespeare's language can be challenging. Practice speaking clearly, projecting your voice, and varying your tone to communicate emotion and meaning.
3. Be Ready to Move - Macbeth includes scenes of battle, court life, and dramatic action. Wear comfortable clothing and be prepared for movement exercises.
4. Give it Your Best - The director is looking for enthusiasm, creativity, and willingness to learn. Don't be reserved.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CAST MEMBER:
1. Show up on time and be present at rehearsal.
2. Memorize the script and be off book by Aug. 3 - that's the first day of rehearsal
3. Costumes will be simple, but some accessories may need to be purchased.
4. Participate in our team. Be supportive and be responsible.

Katie takes the director's chair after serving as Assistant Director for Disney's Frozen Jr. and appearing as Clairee Belcher in CAF's production of Steel Magnolias. A Marion native with experience in both stage and film, Katie is excited to help young performers bring Shakespeare’s timeless characters and stories to life.

In this interactive session, Hailee will teach you the art of sourdough breadmaking step by step - from mixing and kneading to shaping and scoring.

Kids Drama Camp is an exciting week of theatre fun for rising 2nd through 6th graders! Campers will explore acting, voice projection, and stage movement while building confidence and teamwork. Throughout the week, they’ll rehearse for a final performance, giving them the chance to shine on stage. Whether they’re new to theatre or experienced performers, this camp offers a creative, supportive space to learn and grow. Join us for a week of fun, friendships, and the magic of live performance! The week culminates in a public performance on June 27 at 4 p.m. Performance admission is free.

Steel Magnolias Auditions

Actress Eligibility: Female, 16+ years old
Prepare: Please prepare one of the monologues in the audition packet; scenes will be read from the script at the audition. Click on the link below for the audition packet.
Notes: We are looking for strong, passionate actors. Please do not type yourself out and do not role type against the movie. This is not the movie! It is a play and there are differences. Keep in mind that all the characters are Southern, so feel free to attempt a Southern accent!
Committment: Please be sure you can commit to both performances and the three weeks prior. We want you at every rehearsal, but understand there are conflicts. September is going to be highly important for all of the cast to be in attendance.
Cost: There is no cost to participate, however, we do ask that you cover any costume costs. We will be able to provide hair and make up for you for performances.
Children/Guests: Please do not bring guests or children to rehearsals.

An Evening with The Todd Hill Orchestra
